I was proud to attend the rally in Oakland yesterday in support of the Kaiser employees of SEIU-UHW. Kaiser can afford to treat their workers well and needs to bargain in good faith with them. Kaiser made $5.2 billion in profit in the first six months of 2019 and has $38 billion in reserves. They also paid their CEO $16 million last year and are planning to pay almost $300 million for naming rights to the new Warriors stadium in San Francisco. Remember, Kaiser is supposedly a non-profit organization.

As a Kaiser member myself I know that it’s the hard-working employees that make it such a fine healthcare provider. Kaiser’s employees deserve to be treated with respect and given a fair contract.
